GloMidCo was established in September 2000 and is based in Haarlem, The Netherlands. The company sprang from a TIBCO Real Time Market Data environment at a large Dutch financial firm. Currently, GloMidCo employs eight full time experts and two technical part timers. The knowledge and skill levels of GloMidCo’s consultants range from junior developer to medior consultant to senior architect.
GloMidCo’s main expertise is Enterprise Application Integration by means of Message Oriented Middleware. The company is highly specialized in TIBCO software such as BusinessWorks, Integration Manager, Rendezvous, Hawk etcetera. GloMidCo employs TIBCO Certified consultants and has a local strategic partnership with TIBCO software. Apart from a profound knowledge of TIBCO products, GloMidCo’s consultants have a broad knowledge and experience with IT products and concepts, such as network protocols, relational databases, operating systems, programming languages, J2EE, ERP, Data Warehousing etcetera. GloMidCo mainly operates in the financial, utilities (energy) and telecommunications markets.
The concept of knowledge gathering is very important to GloMidCo. Because of this we keep a close eye on the rapidly changing market. For education and research, GloMidCo has built an extensive laboratory environment that is being adapted and expanded in response to and anticipation of the latest developments in technology. This goes for software as well as hardware; platforms used include MS Windows, Sun Solaris and Linux. By using advanced networking equipment and VMware instances, every test configuration imaginable can be replicated in the GloMidCo laboratory. This includes executing Proof of Concepts (POCs), emulating a production environment or researching new software or hardware.
Apart from providing middleware consultancy services, GloMidCo has established close cooperative partnerships with universities and other institutes for higher education. GloMidCo offers middleware education courses focusing on Message Oriented Middleware. Students are given opportunities for research in this field, in the form of internships or graduation work.
